1. These 13 signed documents — which animal does each belong to?

These are signed contracts sitting in your media library. Unlike the other 68, nothing in the site connects them to an animal. The file names hint at a name, but a file name isn't proof — so we've left them unattached rather than risk filing a contract under the wrong animal.

2. The paper contracts that were never scanned

You mentioned roughly fifteen years of signed contracts in physical files, only some of which were ever scanned and uploaded. We have 68 on file digitally.

What we need: roughly how many paper ones are there, and do you want them scanned and added? If the adopter's name and the animal's name are both on the page, we can file them automatically once they're scanned.

3. 14 animals have no photo

No featured image was ever set for these in WordPress. There may be photos of them elsewhere — in a blog post, or on your own computer.

What we need: do any of these have photos somewhere we should go looking?

4. 4 animals have no write-up

These have a name and a photo, but the page body was empty — the bio was never written. Nothing is lost here; it was never there.

5. 3 names that belong to more than one animal

Your site has more than one animal with each of these names. The older version of each record holds details the newer one doesn't — but there's no reliable way to tell which old record goes with which new one, so we left them separate rather than merge the wrong two.

What we need: nothing urgent. If you remember which is which we can join them up; otherwise they stay as separate records, which is the safe answer.

6. One application we couldn't place, and one older record

There's a single adoption application for a “Jane” that points to an animal record that no longer exists — likely a duplicate that got cleaned up years ago. And “Gabe, Homo habilis var. stuffed” only ever existed in the older system and was never carried over. We kept both.

Nothing needed. Flagging so nothing looks like it vanished quietly.
One more thing worth deciding. Right now the photos live in one place — on Mike's computer. Before we go further it's worth putting a second copy somewhere safe.
